Baldi is the main character. He just was on a YouCanThink pad in Baldi's Basics in Education and Learning. He would get mad if you answered a math problem wrong.
The Principal of the Thing would give you detention. If you broke a school rule, he'd give you detention.
Playtime was a little girl who wanted to ploay jumprope. She'd say "Let's plaaay!" and make you jumop rope 10 times. Later, this was decreased to five times. Before v1.3 of Baldi's Basics Classic, there were no Safety Scissors to cut the jumprope, which means that you couldn't stop her.
The bully would stand in the hallway and steal people's items. If you had nothing you couldn't pass. You could only pass if you had something, and once you did pass him, one of your items would be taken.
Gotta Sweep just moved aroud the schoolhouse. If you were in his way while he was moving, he'd push you until you could get off.
1.1 Early Fame
A youtuber named Kindly Keyin started posting videos in 2018, just months after the game released. Other YouTubers began to post Baldi's Basics videos, too, like The Frustrated Gamer and YuB.
This is pretty good for the game, because it got it more visits and more people played it. This helped Micah McGonigal.
1.2 1st Prize
1st Prize was a very good robot. He would wander around the schoolhouse, but was programmed to love. He would push you if you were in his way, but he'd say something like, "Will you marry me?" He is also known for other quotes like, "I hug people for all eternity."
1st Prize was added in baldi's Basics in Education and Learning (now also known as Baldi's Basics Classic) v. 1.3

1.3 Removed items
Other things in the game that are no longer in it are:
- one floor
- The impossible math question(The one no one can answer and that Baldi gets mad if you answer wrong every time)
- four exits
1.4 Arts and Crafters
Arts and Crafters was added in Baldi's Basics Classic and did not do much. He just would stand in a corner. If you stared at Arts and Crafters, he would chase you. If he got to you, he would teleport you. Now, it only happens if you collect all the notebooks on a floor and stare at him.
Chapter 2: Baldi's Basics Demos
The game realeased demos for everyone.
The Field Trip Demo was released on July 24, 2018. It was a big version that included the original camping field trip in the full game.
The Full Game Demo was released on August 12, 2019. It added one new character - Chalkles. Baldi's Basics full game early demo also had eight class rooms, each with a notebook.
The Kickstarter Exclusive Demo was released on November 2, 2019. It had three floors, elevators, and on each floor you had to collect a different amount of notebooks:
- Floor 1 had five notebooks
- Floor 2 had six or seven notebooks
- Floor 3 had nine notebooks
This map also included new characters.
2.1 Beans
Beans was a guy who is 30-35 25-30 years old. He would try to blow bubblegum, but would usually just spit it out. When he was added, there was a 20% chance he would blow a bubble. But he would usually just spit it out.
2.2 Mrs. Pomp
Mrs. Pomp had a high-heel, and would usually hop around in it.
If she saw you, she'd hop up to you, remindin you to be at her class. A timer would go down, and you had to get to her class before the timer ran out.
If you made it in time, you'd get YTPs.
If you were late, she'd wait until you entered a room, unless if you were already in a room when the timer went out. Then she'd scream at you, "WHYYYYYYY... WEREN'T YOU AT MY CLAAAAAAAAAAAAASSS!?!?!?!?!?!?!?"
She'd hop around for many seconds, but then stop hopping around, would just say, "Class dismissed", and leave.
The Challenges Demo was released on April 14, 2020.
It had only three challenges:
- Speedy - Baldi and you could move very fast!
- Stealthy - There were many Princial of the Things. They were looking for you. If they saw you, they'd say, "No being in school after-hours in the halls!" and chase you. In the demo, there was door to escape detention. However, this was later removed.
- Grapple - You have to use a grappling hook to move around.
