Pink is considered either a light red or its own hue depending on the color model or who you ask. The distinction gets very ambiguous when you consider that many pinks are either too purple to be a red or too red to be a purple, especially when they are darker pinks like magenta. Is it too purple to be light red? Is it too red to be light purple? What about the darker colors between purple and red? Would you even consider those reds or purples?
Either way, pink is a light color with a bit more range than yellow. The darkest hue doesn't get duller than yellow but can veer into red or purple if you push it too dark and don't consider it as its own hue. But if you do consider it as its own hue, it gains more range in the darks. The distinction is ambiguous enough as it is.
General Rules
- The red channel typically is 100%/255 but can be slightly less for darker pinks.
- Pink usually has more blue than green but you can get away with yellowish pinks to a point, add too much green and they turn pastel orange or yellow.

Magenta
Magenta can be considered a darker pink from a certain point of view. It's just as ambiguous as pink when it comes to hue, if not more ambiguous, because it looks too purple to be a red, and too red to be a purple. (Funnily enough when you mix paint, a magenta can either make a purple when mixed with a blue, or a red when mixed with orange or yellow. It can even be used to warm up common pigment purples.)
