Garlic Butter Bread Recipe
Garlic Butter Dinner Rolls
Made by Sara
The garlic butter dinner rolls are perfect appetizers for those who love garlic and bread.
I made 2 dozen of these garlic butter dinner rolls for Thanksgiving last year.
I kinda eyballed everything when I did this.
Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- A pinch of salt
- 1 packet of active dry yeast
- 6 garlic cloves
- 3 cups of all-purpose flour
- A tablespoon of sugar
- 1/4 cup of parsely
- Optional: Parmesean cheese
Wet Ingredients
- 1 cup of milk
- 2 sticks of butter
- 1 egg
Steps
- Cut 2 stick of butter into small chunks and let it sit in room temperature.
- Melt 1 of the sticks of butter using a microwave-safe bowl or saucepan. Then set aside for later. It's for brushing the rolls at the end.
- For the 2nd stick of butter we will be using it for mixing the wet and dry ingredients together.
- Sift the flour and salt into a mixing bowl. Set aside.
- Heat the milk to warm temperature then add the yeast in sugar in a seperate bowl. Set aside for 10 minutes or until the mixture is foamy.
- Add the wet mixture into the flour and salt. Knead the dough for 10 minutes or until the dough is elastic.
- Kneading by hand is ok.
- If you are using a stand mixer, set it to low while the dough is kneading.
- After kneading let the dough sit for 45 minutes to an hour. Transfer the dough to a larger bowl if you think there won't be enough room for it to expand.
- Seperate the dough into 12 balls then place into 9x9 inch pan. Let it rest again for 30-45 minutes. Grab the egg and let it sit at room temperature until the dough is done resting.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Scramble then brush the egg yolk on the dough. Once pre-heated place the pan inside. Bake for 25 minutes.
- Dice the garlic and add it to the melted butter. Take out the pan from the oven and brush the dinner rolls with the melted butter. The rolls are ready once it's cooled down.
- Optional: Sprinkle the parmesean cheese if you have any
