Hi 👋

We are going to learn about cipher codes!

What is a cipher?

Cipher codes, or just ciphers, are a procedure to encrypt or decrypt

Algorithm

This procedure is known as an algorithm, a set of very clear steps to follow to ensure the same results when solving a problem

Encryption

Encryption uses a cipher algorithm to encode a message from plain text to cipher text

Decryption

Decryption is the opposite of encryption and decodes a message from cipher text to plain text

Caesar Cipher

The Caesar cipher, also known as a Shift cipher, is one of the most widely used encryption methods

Caesar Cipher

Each letter in the alphabet is shifted by a certain number down the alphabet

Here the alphabet was shifted by 3 characters

So E in plain text becomes in B in cipher text
